About

Positive Grid is the maker of the Spark line of smart practice amps, which pair digital amp modeling with an app-driven experience — auto chord detection, backing-track jamming, and a searchable tone-matching library — aimed at practicing and songwriting rather than live gigging.

History

Positive Grid was founded in 2011 and first built a following with its BIAS FX and BIAS Amp guitar amp and effects modeling software. In 2019 the company launched Spark 40, a compact modeling combo built around a companion smartphone app that could detect the chords of any song played into it and generate matching backing tracks, along with a built-in looper and a large searchable library of artist and user tones. The Spark line expanded to include the battery-powered Spark MINI, the ultra-compact clip-on Spark GO, and the updated Spark 2 flagship, establishing Positive Grid as one of the fastest-growing names in practice and bedroom-guitarist gear alongside its continued software business.
